Trip to Napa - Saturday

Saturday was filled with trying out different wineries and exploring the area.

Sparkling wine tour and tasting...

Some of the grape vines.

Once the grapes are ready, they go into the yellow bins
Can see the buds where the grapes will eventually be!

Mumm is one of the few green wineries in the area.
About to start the inside tour!

Our tour guide Frances, she is from Montreal Quebec!

Bob, the robot. He stacks bottles :)

You can see the yeast settling in the bottle.
These cases are turned every couple hours so the yeast will go to the top.

Workers actually turn the bottles a quarter of an inch every couple days  for the yeast to settle.

My sampler pack...
Mark opted out since he's not much for sparkling wine.
Great start to the morning! My fave was the rosee.

Off to St. Helena to do a tasting at Louis Martini!

One of my faves of the weekend. Great cabs and zinfandel.
Patio area - pretty!
Next stop is Alpha Omega. I really liked this place, but Mark did't care for it too much. He said it was too pretentious.

He bought me my fave bottle of chardonnay. :)
Beautiful patio.
Gorgeous view.
Peju is known for its red wines. Very eclectic design in terms of the building, but interesting nonetheless. We enjoyed the wines, but not enough to buy any....
Entrance.
Art inside.
Barrel room.
Patio lookout.
First floor asting room.
Our wine guide Alan. He had an interesting way of presenting...with rap!
The tasting menu.
The tasting room. (stained glass window is to the left on the wall)
Just finished our tasting.

Bubye Peju!

Last but not least.....

Tasting room.
Menu

Chocolate covered blueberries....sounds kind of strange, but paired with wine, it was delicious!
Closing up so most people have left, but this is the tasting room from the inside.
View from the hill

Dinnertime!

Whole bunch of delicious!
Salty, amazing meaty pizza.
Dessert. Mark's is espresso, mine is gelatto.
yummmmmmmmmy!.

Great Saturday night!
